Purpose:

In this lesson, students will explore solutions to the climate crisis and potential barriers to implementing solutions. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to define climate mitigation and adaptation and identify when mitigation or adaptation strategies are the best solution to a scenario, or when measures that do both are needed. They will be able to define climate resilience and explain its relationship to mitigation and adaptation strategies. Finally, they will be able to describe various methods for motivating change and effectively advocating for climate solutions, along with the challenges and complexities around implementation.
