Who We Are
Climable is a women-led nonprofit with a mission to make climate science and clean energy understandable and actionable for everyone.
We envision a future of energy democracy and climate resilience, where public participation in the energy transition is the norm, and robust grassroots avenues for anticipating, preparing for, and responding to climate disasters exists.
Our Focus
Our work focuses on community resilience through microgrid and resilience hub development, education initiatives for all ages, and stakeholder engagement. We proudly impact communities in the New England area and beyond. Our programs are shaped, guided, and led by the communities we serve.
Our Guiding Principles
We are guided by the 17 Principles of Environmental Justice and the Jemez Principles for Democratic Organizing.
Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that the land where Climable works, organizes, and learnsβthe place now known as the Boston areaβis the traditional homeland of the Massa-adchu-es-et (Massachusett), Pawtucket, and Naumkeag. This land was seized by the United States and its colonial predecessor through force and displacement. This acknowledgement, while far short of what is needed, serves as a reminder of ongoing efforts to recognize, reconcile, and restore the lands and water that we collectively benefit from today.
